ALASKAN STAFF TRAINING METHOD

A Self-Reliant Approach to Challanges

A Self-Reliant Approach to Challanges

Alaskan Staff Training Method is inspired by the self-reliant lifestyle of the Alaskan homesteaders.

These individuals and families choose to live life on their own terms.  In order to survive and to be successful, Alaskan homesteaders learned how to use, reuse and reengineer their resources.

This approach to life’s challenges can be applied to solving many work, professional and personal issues.

When faced with a problem/challenge at work, individuals and staff often look outward for a solution. Is there a service, product or App that I/we can purchase to resolve this situation?  Sometimes that is the most efficient way. However, often we can find the answer within the boundaries of our current resources—if we know how.

The Alaskan Self-Reliant method teaches individuals and teams how to find their own answers.  Through a variety of activities and exercises, participants learn that success the Alaskan Self-Reliant way is achieved by:

AWARENESS, ADAPTING/REENGINEERING, ACCEPTING, and by BEING POSITIVE

AWARENESS OF:

  • The situation

  • The available resources

  • You and you team’s strengths and abilities

ADAPTING / REEINGINEERING:

  • The resources you have

  • The conclusions you’ve come to

  • The ideas you’ve tried

  • Your definition of the problem

ACCEPTING:

  • New ideas

  • Out of the box thinking

BEING POSITIVE IN:

  • Your attitude

  • Your thinking

  • Your approach

  • Ways for you and/or your staff to be more self-reliant and creative

  • Creating high performing teams that can resolve their own issues

  • Ways to “ignite’ and excite yourself and/or others

  • Employees with a growth mindset and the ability to create positive work relationships and environment
